On July 10, when the welcome rain was falling down, the dedication service for the Church of God in Gonghang-dong, Seoul, was held at the Third Day service. The Gonghang Church, situated near the Gimpo International Airport,attracts people’s attention with its geometric design; it has been conceptually and architecturally designed in the shape of a plane taking off.
Mother blessed all Her children who had made efforts to furnish the temple beautifully, and planted the heavenly hope in them, saying, “Now you put on the veil of sin, but you will all be changed into unimaginably beautiful angels in heaven.” Additionally, She encouraged them, saying, “Although the global financial crisis continues and we are living a tough, hard life in this world, since we have hope in our hearts, how happy we are! Let’s cheer up, yearning for heaven and rejoicing always.”
General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol said in his sermon, “The earthly systems are a copy and shadow of those in the heavenly world. Among them, the system of a family consisting of a father, a mother and their children shows that there exist God the Father, God the Mother and Their children (Heb 8:5).” And he emphasized, “The kingdom of heaven is a place where both God the Father and God the Mother are with us.” Then he urged the members, saying, “We are happy because we have Mother. Let us lead many souls to the kingdom of heaven, full of happiness, where God the Father and God the Mother are together with us.”
There is a main road to the Gimpo Airport in front of the Gonghang Church and a residential area in the back. Many people, when driving along the main road, lower their car windows and look at the beautiful scenery of the Church. So, the Church is already well known as the “beautiful Church” among people in that region. There are many people who visit the Church, with their minds wide open. At this, the Church members feel a kind of tension. It is because they think, ‘When we resemble Mother’s love and act in a manner worthy of being Christians anytime and anywhere, we are able to properly convey God’s true will to other people and lead them to God.’
It is also greatly expected that the Gonghang Church will serve as the gateway that welcomes overseas members from Japan and Southeast Asian countries, when they enter Korea through the Gimpo Airport. With this ambition and an abundance of blessings from Mother, the members of the Gonghang Church are now full of joy, believing firmly that the large temple will be filled with the heavenly family members soon.
