“How can we live a fulfilling life?”

At the General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol’s simple yet heavy question, young adults got quite serious. Young adults-to-be, who were planning for the future in earnest, and young adults, who were already making their future in each field, focused on the lecture all along.

On December 25, 2016, a week before the hopeful New Year’s Day, Special Lecture on Young Adults’ Vision 2016 was held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute. More than 10,000 members including high school seniors, young adults who were pulling their weight in their workplaces, campuses, or the military, and the pastoral staff gathered; the institute was filled with young adults’ gospel fervor that put the cold weather to shame.

The event began with Mother’s prayer for young adults—the protagonists of the prophecies—and all the brothers and sisters throughout the world. Mother prayed that all children would be filled with abundant Holy Spirit and blessings, and would take the leading role in preaching the gospel in Samaria and to the ends of the earth with bold and dauntless spirit of the dew of the dawn. Pleased with the young adults who were fulfilling the Bible prophecy, “In the day of Your power, Your youth are to You as the dew (Ps 110:3, NASB),” Mother blessed them with the words: “The Almighty is your Father. Straighten up your shoulders and blow the gospel trumpet with courage. Let’s fulfill the prophecies!”

The lecture began after the service. Pastor Kim Joo-cheol enlightened young adults preparing for the future about the existence and the power of God Elohim with an in-depth presentation ranging from the Israelites’ history 3,500 years ago to today’s space science, and signposted the ways to the fruitful future with absolute faith in God. He emphasized that big and small troubles we go through are the process for us to be born again and become greater vessels in faith, and that not only making plans but also putting them into action is important in order to leave a meaningful result. The young adults’ “Amen” resounded through the hall when Pastor Kim Joo-cheol said at the end, “Let’s view the world with a wider perspective like that of God who created the universe. Let’s have big dreams and make our future more blessed with the power of God the Father and God the Mother.”

Before the lecture, there were some events for young adults. A photo exhibition spotlighting the touching moments in the gospel fields of college students, workers, and servicemen was held on the second floor of the main building of the institute and inspired the viewers to have greater faith. Snack booths were installed outdoors to encourage young adults-to-be who had been tired with preparation for scholastic aptitude tests or employment, and young adults who were busy with works.

“Everything was up in the air, and I was much worried about what I should do and how much I could do. But today I’ve confirmed once again that God is with me. I feel confident,” said Sister Jeong Jae-hui (from Seongnam) with a smile, who was going to enter college. “It’s difficult to endure cold weather with 16 degrees Celsius below zero and to stay with others in the military unit as all have different ways of thinking. But thinking of the day when I will realize my gospel vision after leaving the army, I’m going to spend the given time faithfully,” Brother Kim Yong-seok (from Yeoncheon) who participated in the event during his leave expressed his determination. “I will stop the way I was living because I didn’t do my best under the excuse that I was busy. I’ll make a detailed plan in the New Year and put it into practice persistently. I really want to achieve my gospel goal,” wished Sister Yuk Hong-eun (from Incheon), an office worker.

After the day’s schedule, the young adults shouted together in one voice, as if reminding themselves of the vision in their hearts and encouraging each other: “Young adults! Have big dreams!”
