The Church of God holds the “Winter Vacation Camp” every year for the middle and high school students and the students who are starting middle school to help them make good use of their time during the school vacation
and to foster their dreams and faith. During this year’s winter vacation, “2013 Winter Vacation Camp for Youth Students” was held in January in about 400 Church of God branches throughout Korea.

The camp program was composed of the Bible study, volunteer service activities and experience activities. During the camp, the students, who did not have much time to study the Bible during the semester, learned the truth and also reviewed the truth they had learned. Finding it interesting, they held the “Bible Seminar” for their friends with the confidence they gained by practicing preaching the truth they had learned.

As God’s teachings were engraved on the hearts of the students, their behaviors also changed. A schoolboy said, “I used to like playing games on my mobile phone. But I’ve deleted them all, and my faith is growing, studying the Bible,” and a student said, “God said that we must always love each other, be self-controlled and serve one another. I’ll try hard to always say good things so that I’ll be a heavenly child who has a beautiful mind.”

Many volunteer service activities, such as cleaning up the streets or visiting homes for senior citizen, went along very actively. Some students went out to the streets and shed sweat despite the cold weather by picking up trash from every corner and taking down illegal posters. Some students visited homes for senior citizens and spread a smile on the faces of the senior citizens by massaging their shoulders and having conversations with them.

Another good thing about the camp for students is that not only the members of Zion but also their friends are free to participate in it. The students share God’s love with their friends through the Bible study, feel great while doing the volunteer service, and make good memories through various experience activities. This time too, they had a cooking contest and did balloon art, and also visited a museum, the Independence Hall and the Safety Theme Park so that they could enlarge their experience.

The students looked happier as days went by. They said that it wasn’t just because the camp was fun, but because they realized the joy of sharing time with each other.

“I usually spent time at home because there was nothing to do during the school vacation, but I was able to be more regular in my life thanks to this camp. It’s also nice to know God’s words in more detail, and I feel happy to be with my brothers and sisters and my friends every day.”

A school vacation is a time for students to take a rest and become mentally mature. Students can easily waste their time doing nothing much, but the students of the Church of God become closer to God and share time and laughter with their friends and neighbors through the camp for students.
